Business Analyst (External Consultant)

GIS Programme:- Acted as the business analyst for a project aimed at recovery of GIS capability from a catastrophic cyber-attack. This later transitioned to a programme of work aimed at implementing (for the first time at the Trust) fully-centralised self-service GIS processes.- Also acted as on-again off-again, caretaker project/programme manager during periods where no dedicated PM was assigned.- Duties included: scoping deliverables, producing stakeholder requirements, liaison with internal/external delivery teams, liaison with accountable stakeholders.- Achievements: Delivered (with project and delivery teams) recovery of basic GIS service and business-critical functions (health & safety related).- However, the transition to delivering "new" (i.e. beyond recovery) GIS capability led to more mixed results - due to inability to predict/control schedule. Causes included significant dependency on parts of the IT function *also* undergoing significant organisational change, as well as good old-fashioned difficulty associated with designing a system to model complex natural processes that also works for a diverse set of stakeholders.- As of my departure, we had demonstrated foundational elements that should have lain a solid foundation for future implementations. Including: running planning workshops that cut across the Trust's federated structure, greatly increasing involvement of "front-line"/expert users during system design, formal definition of key performance indicators.- GIS was quite literally a box in the far corner of an architecture diagram when we started. When I left it was recognised as one of two "core" information systems in the Trust's data strategy.Other duties:- Part of a team tasked with urgently procuring laptops to accommodate a pandemic-related switch to home-working. Co-wrote an IT equipment survey and compiled staff data to assign appropriate hardware and distribute.

CRM, serving around 20000 alumni. Project involved remote coordination of 2 external vendors, 4 internal departments, a 3rd-party integration development, decommissioning of an existing platform- Automated an integration between Student and O&A CRM systems, reducing cycle time to around 17% of baseline and removing an annual GBP 6k subscription cost.Slightly regretting doing a GCSE in Spanish and not French.
