Pedro Évora was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1978, educated in Rio de Janeiro and in The Netherlands as high school student. As Architect, city planner, artist, movie director, curator and exhibition designer his work has been recognized over the last two decades and shown in the Museum of Modern Art of New York – MoMA, Vienna Biennale – MAK Museum, Chicago Architecture Biennial, Carnegie Museum Of Art, Venice Architecture Biennale, Shenzhen Architecture Biennale, Lisbon Triennial, among others. Has lectured at educational and cultural institutions such as MoMA, MAK-Vienna, Michigan University, Chile Architecture Biennale and University of Amsterdam. Évora was invited by Brazil’s Ministry to be Co-curator of the three Brazilian Architecture exhibitions at the Belgium Europalia 2011: Lina Bo Bardi, Paulo Mendes da Rocha and Building Brasilia. In 2010 was invited by Defense Department to join the Brazilian mission to establish emergency facilities after the earthquake in Haiti. After working at the Urban Department from 2004-2008 designing and building several schools and public spaces in Nova Iguaçu, he co-founded the Atelier Rua Arquitetos (Street Architects) to develop innovative buildings and solutions. The experience includes art, private and comercial buildings, temporary architectures, scenography and exhibitions. In 2012 won the National Competition for building the Olympic Golf Clubhouse Rio 2016.The practice was nominated with two projects for the Mies Crown Hall Award. In 2013, he started a movie direction experience with the documentary "The Port of Rio” launched at the 2015 Rio Film Festival, about the transformation of Rio’s City Center. The film was shown in movie theaters in Brazil and at festivals in Europe.From 2017 to 2019 Évora worked as Projects Advisor for the City of Rio de Janeiro Urban Department. Evora is Studio Professor at Architecture Department of PUC Rio University, partner of Évora Projetos Especiais e Rua Arquitetos.
