I took two internships and did my bachelor thesis at the Fraunhofer IAP. There I had my first experience working in a lab and in the research field. I gained experience working with proteins and cells in the form of human and bacterial cell cultures with the goal of testing a novice biomaterial. Tasks included cultivating cells, changing media, freezing cells and also electrophorese methods. My bachelor thesis was concentrated around expressing and extracting a certain protein and have an enzyme react with this protein to form oligomers.
