At Allianz Global Investors our team develops and maintains Mosaic, a platform used in the implementation of several investment and trading tools. We aim at bridging the gap between software engineering skills and business development to deliver an efficient and reliable system that is highly adapted for business requirements.In my role as team lead I aim at working very closely to the business in order to translate its needs to technical requirements, which our team delivers in an agile environment.

I joined Allianz Global Investors as an Investment Engineer to bridge the gap between Software Engineering and Investment competencies. I’ve taken over tasks such as the development of the core features of an investment platform, integration of business side tools into a proper development life cycle, and the role of scrum master within my team. My goal within the company is to continue to develop and maintain these tools following proper Software Engineering practices while enabling the Investment business to develop itself from these tools.

Work in Malware Response & Research in the development of tools for malware analysis. Development is mostly done with different databases (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Neo4j) and Python+Django for backend web developement.

Research and development of data mining solution for Viatecla's internal content manager. The objective was to find specific distributions of mostly nominal data and present them to a user. Research started by looking at more conventional clustering methods for nominal data, such as the K-Modes algorithm, but failed to produce any interesting results so a novel method was developed.

Embraer has an internal protocol that states how tools are handled and moved in the assembly lines of its factories. This project implements an ubiquitous system that implements this protocol. The project involves the development of two windows applications (using CEF+HTML5) which are used in various points of the assembly line, a Python central daemon (Python3+RabbitMQ) to handle communication between the various applications, and the database (PostgreSQL).

Worked on a YAP Prolog library for RabbitMQ. RabbitMQ is a message broker that implements the AMQP protocol. The library is implemented in C using RabbitMQ's C library. Its API is made to resemble Ruby's library called Bunny. A Prolog library for MessagePack was also implemented. MessagePack is a binary serialization format. The implementation of this library was also done in C using an existing C library for MessagePack.

Developed the frontend for an enriched video web platform for e-learning environments. Enrich video, in this context, would be a video with other multimedia elements associated with it, such as images, PDF files, audio clips, and others, presented in an interactive way. The platform was implemented as a single page HTML5 web application. It therefore had a fairly big JavaScript code base which was developed from scratch. The project also used Raphaël and JQuery.

Development of a tool for probabilistic calculus and optimization for multi variable probability distribution representations. The tool was developed in C without other libraries and was used in the implementation of algorithms for probabilistic optimization in Markov Chains, HMMs and MDPs.

Developed an online service for document creation. The user would insert some information in a form and the service would create a set of PDF files with that information written. The frontend of the service was a simple HTML+CSS website. The backend implementation was PHP. PDFs were generated from \LaTeX~and SVG templates. Final grade was 20.

Made several implementations in JavaScript and PHP as experiments and not production work. Some experiments in PHP were made to work with a MySQL database. Such experiments involved creating and managing databases for a specific service. Final grade was 18.
