I am a gameplay programmer from Portugal who previously worked on LightBrick Studio in both LEGO Builder's journey and an unannounced project. Msc and Bsc in GamesMy portfolio: https://pedro-rainha.com/I am currently looking for a job as a:- Game Programmer- Technical Game Designer- Game Designer- Level Designer- ProducerFrom my earliest memories of hosting custom World of Warcraft servers in sixth grade to my recent graduation with a Master's in Games, my journey has been driven by my passion for games. I love immersive and interactive experiences of all shapes and forms.During High school, I did the British system (IGCSEs, As & A lvls) where I focused on Maths, Physics and Computer Science. It was there that I was first introduced to the world of programming, using Python. There I was handed by the teacher a book on how to make Space Invaders in Python. Upon completing the book, I was super proud and realized what I wanted to do for a career since it never felt like an option. My pursuit of this dream led me to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Games Programming. Over two intense years, I honed my skills in Game Design, Unity Engine, Unreal Engine, C# & C++ and various others. I gained a deep understanding of game development, from practical and design skills to the entire lifecycle of a game, from conceptualization to execution. After this, I released both a Mobile game and a Unity Asset Store tool and pursued a Master's Degree in Games at ITU Copenhagen. On the side, I worked as a Unity Game developer and designer at Lightbrick Studio for one year. My Master's helped me own my game development skills and learn new things, both technical, design and teamwork and which direction I want to go as a game developer. With over five years of experience in game development, I have participated in more than 15 Game Jams, fostering quick iteration, innovation, and teamwork. I am currently an organizer for Nordic Game jam and stay as active as I can in the Games Industry.Currently, I am dedicated to further enriching my technical and design skills through new projects and challenges. My proficiency spans C++, C#, Unity Engine, and Unreal Engine, and I'm also comfortable with technologies like OpenGL, SDL2, and Network Programming. As I step into the next chapter of my career, I am excited to contribute my expertise as a Technical Game Designer, Game Developer & Programmer, Level Designer, or Game Designer.Let's connect and explore how my passion, skills, and experience can align with the dynamic opportunities in the world of game development.
