About Pedro Rossi
Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Urbanism (UFPB) in 2007 and a master's degree in Theory and History of Architecture from the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB/UPC), completed in 2009. During the years 2008 and 2009, he conducted activities as a visiting researcher at the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) in London, focusing his research on the contributions of William Morris to the protection of historical monuments.Currently, he is a researcher and PhD candidate at the Laboratory of Housing and Human Settlements of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (LABHAB/FAUUSP), dedicated to studying successful urban policy experiences during the country's redemocratization period in the 1980s and 1990s, within the context of democratic and popular municipalities.Starting his career, he addressed topics related to rescuing the memory of master craftsmen's work, protecting properties in areas of cultural interest, and investigating socio-spatial dynamics and land issues in Historic Centers. At the Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage of the State of Paraíba (IPHAEP), he served as deputy coordinator of the Permanent Commission for the Development of the Historic Center of João Pessoa, where he conducted research, developed, and implemented preservation and conservation plans.Interaction with professional entities, civil organizations, and social movements drove in-depth study of urban policies, especially those related to housing and inequality mitigation. In the teaching field, he coordinated the early years of the undergraduate course in Architecture and Urbanism at UNIESP University Center, receiving the maximum grade granted by the Ministry of Education during the recognition process.Additionally, was responsible for creating and directing the Postgraduate Program in Design and Architecture of Ephemeral Spaces (PósDAEE/UNIESP), internationally recognized, with participation in events in Spain and Mexico.Regarding main professional activities, he dedicated himself to the elaboration of projects for public facilities and urban requalification in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB) between 2008 and 2011.Between 2020 and 2023, he worked as a specialized consultant in urban policy in managing projects for the implementation of public policies focused on Early Childhood. This work took place within the technical partnership between the Brazilian Institute of Architects (IAB) and the Van Leer Foundation, through the Urban95 initiative.

In this context, new forms of visualization and application of digital technology were also explored.The course graduated four groups of professionals capable of generating innovative solutions to contemporary challenges while promoting the understanding and appreciation of various territories, from natural to built environments.In addition to the specialization course, short-duration workshops focused on specific topics related to the design and architecture of ephemeral spaces were promoted. Over the years, several workshops were held, offering opportunities for participants to deepen their knowledge and practical skills. In October 2014, the Urban Intervention Workshop took place in Recife. In January 2015, the International Workshop was held in collaboration with Susana Pique in Barcelona.
