Responsible for a team of 50+ people that procure and manage a spend in excess of CAD$1.5 billion dollars across a large number of projects, executed for different clients. My responsibilities include the following key activities:- Hire, set-up and develop the competency of teams, assigned to the execution of different projects- Establish stewardship principles and guiding supply chain execution strategies for managing SCM activities with each client- Ensure procedures, processes and systems adhere to best industry practices- Continuously drive for cost and productivity efficiencies in all aspects of SCM- Monitor and assess the performance of suppliers, drive and collaborate with key suppliers on the supplier performance improvement process- Alignment of strategies and process with other functions and key stakeholders, aimed at attaining cross-functional efficiencies and competitiveness improvements- Development of agile, and where necessary bespoke, contracting strategies designed to deal with risks and uncertainties, and to maximize cost and schedule certainty.

As a manager of Supply Chain Management at AMEC, I’ve been responsible for setting up and managing the execution of the Supply Chain activities in different projects. This includes the management of all purchasing, sub-contracting, expediting, logistics, supplier quality surveillance and materials management activities.The following is a list of recent projects where I have had a relevant Supply Chain Management role in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management of these industrial plants:

Acted as a lead buyer and SCM manager on projects and was responsible for setting up and managing the execution of the Supply Chain activities in different projects. Additionally, I acted as an advisor for the implementation of SmartPlant Materials (MARIAN) at Hatch in the context of Procurement and Materials Management of EPCM projects. SmartPlant Materials, previously MARIAN, is an Intergraph tool that manages bills of material and requisitions, procurement and supply chain functions, fabrication tracking and site tasks including receiving, warehousing and construction material planning.

Acted as Sourcing Manager at TrandingParters providing procurement consultancy services to clients including Caterpillar, JCB, UBS, Culligan, Guardian Automotive, Waterloo Industries.I was responsible for activities such as spend analyses, e-RFx, Reverse Auctions, assessment and pre-qualification of supplier, including suppliers from Low Cost Countries and order/contract management.

As the Exportation and T&L coordinator my responsibilities included:  Supervised and managed the logistic operation involving the company’s exports,  Coordinate inspections and inspection requirements with inspection agencies,  Tendered freight and customs brokerage services for exports from Portugal to Angola, Mozambique, Cabo Verde, UK, Spain and France, and  Prepare all necessary exportation paperwork: Credit letters, Bills of Lading, Packing Lists are examples of most used.
