Spectacular. Breathtaking. Unforgettable. These are the words first-time visitors use to describe Gibbs Gardens, the world-class destination garden owned, designed and developed by Jim Gibbs. Set in the rolling woodlands of northeast Cherokee County, Georgia, Gibbs Gardens encompasses 300 acres of gentle hillsides covered with mature trees, 22 ponds, pristine streams, waterfalls and countless natural springs that flow seamlessly around 220 acres of 16 artistically designed garden venues. In addition to 20 million daffodils that captivate visitors starting in early March, the Gardens lay claim to the largest Japanese Gardens in America. The Water Lily Gardens feature 140 varieties of unique lilies in one of the largest natural displays of water lilies in the nation as well as a replica of Claude Monet’s Japanese Bridge in Monet’s Garden at Giverny (outside Paris). The Manor House Gardens offer spectacular changes of color every season. These gardens feature seven flowering terraces flowing seamlessly down 150 feet of elevation to the Valley Gardens. Within Gibbs Gardens, visitors will find the Arbor Café for sandwiches made with bread baked fresh each morning and scrumptious desserts. One’s visit is not complete without a stop in The Seasons Gift Store featuring one-of-a-kind wall art, home décor, designer jewelry and much more. Open-air trams run to the Japanese Gardens and gardens in bloom throughout the season. Gibbs Gardens is open from March through December 1.
