She served on the Board of Directors for the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards, inBloom, PARCC Content Technical Working Group, and CAEP. Ms. Brookins is an astute presenter and was recently the keynote speaker at Phi Delta Kappa's 2011 conference. She has also been an AFT reviewer for the Gates secondary "formative assessment" materials and PARCC's Math content frameworks.
