Led and managed Appointed Actuary process which included coordinating cash flow testing, actuarial opinions, and actuarial reports for regulators with company product line Valuation areas, Investment actuaries, and the Appointed Actuaries. Product lines included group life, individual and group disability, voluntary benefits (worksite), and long term care. Stayed current and provided research on regulatory developments, communicating to other company actuaries and assisting with implementation and compliance.• Proposed ideas, enabling effective handling of increased Appointed Actuary process workload. Implemented proposed ideas, obtaining temporary assistance from within company during heavy work periods throughout 1st quarter of year, allowing successful completion of the increasing workload without a staffing increase. Improved efficiency of process by implementing spreadsheet improvements and arranging for transference of selected work to more appropriate areas.• Led company's major reserve study for the Voluntary Benefits line of business, working with several actuarial students, and communicating results to actuarial management, resulting in management's understanding of reserve adequacy for line of business.

Served as member of Individual Disability Income modeling team that developed and ran Tillinghast Actuarial Software (TAS) liability projection models, enabling reserve adequacy, cash flow testing, and other studies.• Implemented process, enabling importation of liability projections into TAS for asset/liability runs, allowing model output to be used for cash flow testing. Adapted individual disability importation process to long term care, allowing process to be applied to a 2nd product line.
