Managed all Human Resource functions for a manufacturing company of 120 employees at two locations employing persons with barriers to employment. Led team of two HR Generalists, Employment Services Coordinator and Job Coach.

Managed the VMRC safety program and HR compliance. Coordinated FMLA, short-term disability, and the Worker’s Compensation Program. Enforced VMRC health and safety guidelines, inspects workspaces to ensure safety standards, and provides or facilitates workplace safety training. Served as the secondary point of contact for the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) through system updates/modifications, and report generation. Coordinated and led monthly Safety Committee meetings and investigates workplace incidents. Assisted all staff with benefit and safety concerns in a customer-first manner and completed other HR Generalist functions.

Coordinated benefits for entire University population. Supervised and trained staff of one Retirement Specialist, two Benefits Specialists, one Leave Specialist and one Benefits Assistant.

Worked with two Unions to determine most appropriate benefit structure each year. Trained all new HR staff in benefits management, leave management, and company policies. Served as benefits compliance officer for entire company, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all company reports (including 5500’s, EEO-1 reports, PBGC premiums). Managed workers’ compensation. Served as HR generalist as needed.

Provided generalist guidance to approximately 100 employees in two Harrisonburg, Virginia facilities including recruitment, coordinating performance management, employee relations, and management training. Served as Service Contract Act resource for sites and local staff.
