After graduating high school, I took a gap semester and backpacked across Europe, exploring many different countries and cultures. After returning home to Pittsburgh, Pa., I enrolled in Community College of Allegheny County and earned an Associate of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences, receiving Highest Honors and graduating as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society in May 2021. I transferred to Carnegie Mellon University in the fall of 2021 and received my Bachelor of Science in International Relations and Political Science with a minor in Professional Writing in May of 2024, graduating with University and College honors, and as an Andrew Carnegie Society Scholar as well as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. I was also awarded the CMU Senior Leadership Recognition Award, the Carnegie Mellon Women’s Association’s Outstanding Graduating Senior Award, and the Carnegie Mellon Institute for Strategy and Technology Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award.Throughout my time at CMU, I've placed gender equity and birth justice at the center of my research and work. During my senior year, I pursued an honors thesis titled, An Analysis of Maternal Health Outcomes Post-Dobbs (2022): Exploring the Social and Political History Behind the Crisis. This project investigated the nation's worsening maternal mortality rate, exploring its connections to medical sexism and racism as well as the mainstream politicization of abortion care.Throughout my career, I plan to research, organize, and advocate for birth justice and health equity. Ultimately, I hope to help inform and enable people with a sense of agency, self-advocacy, and autonomy.
