After initiating, designing and executing the GDPR compliance program at Swedish Transport Administration in 2017, I assumed the role as DPO when GDPR came into force. My responsibilities are to monitor and advice GDPR compliance and report to the top management while maintaining independence and integrity.The core strategies of my DPO work are to give as practical and useful advice as possible, to scale the GDPR compliance to work efficiently and proactively and to consistently create synergy with the organization’s broader businesses objectives and digitalization efforts.This has allowed a broad interpretation of the DPO role, and ability to create value on a broad basis. Since the Schrems II judgement I am part of the internal cloud computing advisory group.• Development of national guidelines for open data and open licensing – including GDPR and cyber security perspectives – in cooperation with other government agencies mainly through eSamverka, which is a cooperation within Sweden's public sector.• Development of the national knowledge body regarding the GDPR compliance and privacy engineering perspectives in the field of innovation. Working in cooperation with AI Sweden and the internal strategic innovation unit of Swedish Transport Administration.

Primarily responsible for IT governance, digitalization, information management and information security strategies within the Major projects division. The division are responsible for complex decade-long road and railroad infrastructure project with a budget above 400.000.000€. The role acts as strategic advisor to the top executives and requires a full understanding of both technical and business perspectives.The main strategic challenges of this role:• Implementing BIM – Building Information Management – and a ISO standardized industrial maintenance framework to the process of building and maintaining the national Swedish road and railroad infrastructure consisting of 100.000 km of national roads and 15.000 km of railroads.• Improve the conditions for digitalization of infrastructure planning and construction. The major parts of this challenge was to implement information modelling, ensure a legal and efficient handling of information security and national security requirements; and to improve the efficiency of the internal IT-based organizational development.

The work consisted of maintaining customer relations and managing interplay between several operations teams in relation to the customer organization.The Driving Licence Test Organization of Swedish Transport Administration is Sweden's biggest competence evaluation organization. Several hundred thousands of tests are performed every year.The main strategic challenges of this role:• Unacceptable high incident rate in critical customer-facing applications causing high levels of customer and employee dissatisfaction. Required troubleshooting in a complex technical environment over different organizations and several boundaries of responsibility. Successful result, incident rate reduced with 80% over 9 months.• Responsibility for customer relationship with limited authority over technology and staffing. Required strong interpersonal skills and close work with technical, security and networking staff and management.• Internal organizational rules in conflict with business conditions. Required negation with stakeholders and top management to find workable solutions.
