He worked in advertising in New Zealand (Young and Rubicam) before moving to the UK to work for the pioneering Media Strategy company, Michaelides and Bednash. Pema also launched and then lead a new innovation division called NAM Labs. Under Pema's leadership NAM Labs built and tested several product ideas that touched on AR and AI. The first product the division launched was an industry wide open network for the distribution and fulfillment of coupons at huge scale called Freedom. Because of the open architecture and approach, Freedom was able to partner with several key industry players and grow quickly to become a major contributor to the business.
