- Gathering data on current agricultural practices, crop yields, and food security levels to establish benchmarks for project impact.- Providing technical guidance on crop selection, planting, cultivation, pest management, and harvesting to improve yields and food security.- Advising on soil conservation practices, fertilization, irrigation, and sustainable land use to enhance productivity and prevent degradation.- Working directly with farmers and communities to implement agricultural interventions, troubleshoot problems, and provide real-time advice.- Facilitating the distribution of seeds, tools, and other agricultural inputs necessary for the success of the project.- Regularly visiting project sites to monitor progress, assess the effectiveness of interventions, and collect data- Preparing reports on field activities, challenges, and successes to inform project managers and stakeholders.- Representing Hortifresh in stakeholder engagement in the Northern region of Uganda.- Collaborating with local governments, NGOs, community leaders, and other stakeholders to align project activities with community needs and priorities.- Involving community members in decision-making processes, ensuring that interventions are culturally appropriate and meet local needs.- Facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices between communities, stakeholders, and other field agronomists.- Identifying successful strategies and areas for improvement to inform future projects.
