I discovered my love for words at 10 when I was given a manual typewriter. However, shortly after high school, I started a family and abandoned my word-loving ways for more steady work in finance, earning a degree in accounting. Several years ago, I resumed my Word Nerd status as a freelance copy editor, proofreader, and creator of back-of-the-book and embedded indexes using Word or Adobe InDesign. I've completed many courses including UC Berkeley’s Indexing Theory and Application and earned UCSD’s Specialized Certificate in Copyediting. I've also served as a judge for the ACES Headline Contest, and proofread the American Society of Indexers quarterly bulletin Key Words.
