Use models as well as empirical data to optimize kiln operation condition, improve throughput and reduce firing defects. Propose changes to drive down firing defect losses significantly.• Lead thermoelectric system performance and mechanical durability modeling effort. Set key technical targets regarding TE material and interconnect properties for the material research team. • Development of process and product performance model for diesel particulate filter, mercury abatement, solid oxide fuel cell, mini-reactor, micro-reactor, on-board gasoline/octane separation, silicon-on-glass, solar panel, optical grade crystal, particulate matter removal in semi-enclosed environment, HVAC antigen removal in office, submerged combustion glass melting and ultra-low-expansion glass manufacturing.
