One More Mountain was set up to manage and market Michael Milton, Paralympic athlete and Australia's fastest ever skier. It has since evolved to offer clients a range of communications services including: media and speaker training workshops, writing and editing and content creation, social media management, video production and general communications consulting.

I am managing communications for ACT Healthy Waterways, a joint initiative of the ACT and Australian governments to improve the quality of water entering our lakes and waterways and flowing downstream into the Murrumbidgee River system and the wider Murray-Darling Basin.

Big Foot Adventures specialises in guided cycling and walking tours around Canberra and the South East region of NSW. Our most popular tour is Ride the Divide - a two-day mountain biking trip from Canberra to the Coast over the Great Dividing Range. Watch out for a Kokoda tour later in 2014.

This was a short-term contract position working for the Australian Institute of Sport organising and managing a series of sport program launches and the annual AIS Sports Awards. I also wrote copy for the new (at the time) AIS website and for various printed publications).

On a four week contract through Hays, I worked in an EL1 role in the Corporate Communications department at DEWR. My primary task was to develop copy for the department’s intranet news site read by staff all over Australia. I developed story ideas, chased leads, conducted interviews and wrote copy to help make the news service more dynamic and proactive. I also researched and wrote speeches and presentations for junior ministers.

Working in a small team of three in Queensland, I was responsible for all PR activities, media relations, athlete liaison, event management and also played a role in business development, fundraising and sponsorship management.

As Projects Manager I was responsible for the management of all fundraising projects with an event focus, including the annual Brissie to the Bay Bike Ride and the Queensland operations of the nationwide MS READ-a-thon. For the latter I had the responsibility of producing the national promotional video.

As part of the competition management team and with the assistance of 30 volunteers, I managed the warm-up venue and controlled team movements to and from the field of play.

Working closely with directors, crew and clients, my role involved the management of production schedules to ensure the timely completion of projects within budget. I also served as Production Assistant on location.

Working on a contract basis, I coordinated the Business Achiever Awards - a series of 14 gala awards nights in recognition of excellence in small business.

I was responsible for the staging of regional and state level tournaments and Brisbane-based weekly competitions.

Working in a high pressure, creative team environment, I helped to design and implement marketing programs for a diverse range of corporate clients including Johnson & Johnson, 3M and British Coal.
