The Board is responsible for a range of activities, including the oversight of and adherence to the standards for entry to Society membership and Engineering Council (EngC) registration.This includes monitoring education and training within the aerospace profession, liaison with the EngC and other professional and learned bodies, developing professional development initiatives, handling appeals against grading or accreditation committee decisions, investigation of complaints against Society members, under the terms of the Society’s Code of Conduct, and liaison with the Membership Services Board on membership recruitment matters.The Board is also responsible for oversight of the Society’s involvement in skills, education and careers activities, including advising on the Society’s Schools Build a Plane project.I also sat on the Accreditation Committee, who review and accredit engineering degree programmes at Higher Education Institutes, both in the UK and internationally.
