Responsible for running the RYA Yachtmaster Scheme - a comprehensive system of sail and power training courses and qualifications; delivered worldwide to 80,000 yachtsmen and women a year, through 1,500 RYA schools and clubs by 2,500 RYA instructors

Appointed by the UK Prime Minister as a Trustee to the Royal Museums Greenwich, which consists of the National Maritime Museum, the Royal Observatory Greenwich and the Queen's House, and works in collaboration with The Cutty Sark Trust. The Museum works to illustrate for everyone the importance of the sea, ships, time and the stars and their relationship with people.
