Direct all aspects of the state’s Office of Healthy Schools operations including, supervision of staff, management of grants and contracts, and provision of training and professional development. Project lead for the Coordinated School Health co-agency initiative of the Florida Departments of Education and Health establishing a collaborative, systematic and state-of-the-art approach to leveraging community and public school partnerships and resources addressing childhood health behaviors and other factors that contribute to lifelong chronic disease in adults. * Co-developed Florida’s Coordinated School Health Partnership and established goals and priorities to maximize resources and reduce duplication of efforts * Spearheaded the creation of the Florida Healthy School District Self-Assessment tool and recognition program designating Florida Healthy School Districts * Facilitates biannual Florida Coordinated School Health Partnership meetings, Health and Education Interagency Collaboration workshops and Healthy District Collaborative webinars * Manages Centers for Disease Control and Prevention HIV/STD Prevention and Youth Surveillance grants, Florida Tobacco Trust Fund Teacher Training, Research and Evaluation grants, Community Schools Partnership grant, Health Education and Physical Education projects, Florida Green Ribbon School Program * Provides internal and external partners with coordinated school health content, resources, training and technical assistance * Administers national and statewide green school recognition programs.

Managed the training component of Florida Department of Education’s Reading Endorsement Program. This statewide initiative provided Florida public school teachers the professional development opportunity to complete mandated specialization reading endorsement certification requirements. Coordination and management included singular oversight responsibility for fiscal payment process, instructor recruitment, fee negotiation, and regional site determination and delivery.

Operational and supervisory oversight for the administration of $18 million in federal (Title IV) funding to assure successful implementation of the Safe and Drug-Free Schools Program in compliance with federal and state guidelines, including grantee application, training, technical assistance, quality monitoring, project reports and process evaluation.

Operational and budget oversight for multimillion-dollar education and training component of the Florida Tobacco Settlement including staff supervision, contract management, coalition member training, competitive bid process, internal and community workshops and seminars related to tobacco prevention. Routinely reviewed and analyzed data to evaluate program efficiency and product effectiveness to develop innovative strategies for systematic and continuous improvement of tobacco education and training statewide.
