Successfully managed technology integration of external company into Iridium’s enterprise infrastructure with minimal disruption to mission critical operations; the project included a complete design and implementation of network and computing infrastructure for a mission critical facility. The project was delivered 2 months early and slightly under budget. Reporting directly to VP of IT/BOSS provided input to development of strategic direction of department project planning, objectives, and implementation.  Process Development & Improvement: Developed standards and templates for managing projects. Communication plans were established and a regular meeting schedule to ensure management remained informed of all aspects of a given project throughout the lifecycle. These standards and practices resulted in a 95% increase of on-time on-budget projects from the department. Profitability: Successfully led and completed phone replacement project resulting in savings of $130k a year in maintenance cost reductions and reduction of costs moving from PRI to MPLS communication network design. Operations Improvement: Led 3.5 million-dollar, yearlong network replacement project for Iridium’s Mission Network. The project was completed 2 months earlier than projected, under budget, with no impact to mission operations. An already complex project became even more challenging as Iridium was launching new satellites on the network for the duration of project. Responsible for overall strategy and execution of short-term and long-term business objectives for the development and management of database support for Oracle, Microsoft SQL, and MYSQ, Mainframe and AS400. Elevated responsibilities in the Director of Database Administration, Mainframe, and Mid-range systems role within 4 months of hire; being groomed for the Director position. Responsible for P&L for each discipline: DBA, Mainframe, AS400.
