This was a new role established in 2020. The key responsibilities were to develop SHES strategy and drive SHES improvement programs across Orica's Supply Chain in APA. I was part of the Supply Chain Leadership team with dual reporting lines to the VP of Supply Chain and VP of SHES.Unfortunately along with the roles of many of my Orica colleagues this role is now redundant and I will be leaving Orica at the end of June 2021.

With the merger of VicRoads and PTV with the Department of Transport my role as Safety Transformation Projects Manager transitioned to the new DoT. The focus of this role was road network safety related to maintenance, construction and operation of the network and the associated regulatory component such as worksite traffic management.

This was a secondment, to lead the Network Safety Team focusing on the Public Transport Network in Victoria. In this role I led a team of safety systems engineers, safety performance managers, project managers and support personnel (total 6 team members) working across all forms of rail (tram and train) and bus transport networks. Day-today work involved supporting the team to complete maturity assessments of the operators’ safety management systems and conduct reviews of safety incidents that occurred on the network. In addition I had responsibilities for stakeholder engagement with the various transport operators, participating in safety workshops (including preliminary hazard assessments, safety in design) and project risk assessments) on a range of projects under the Victorian Government’s “Big Build” program (ncluding level crossing removals and rail line upgrades) and preparation of briefings to the Deputy Secretary and the Minister.

As part of the new Safety and Wellbeing Team, established in mid-2017 I was responsible for leading the team of safety advisors supporting the organisation to deliver services safely on a day to day basis across the whole VicRoads’ portfolio including high risk construction (as both construction company and a construction contract manager), road operator, regulator and provider of customer services. A key aspect of the role was to identify and implement safety improvement initiatives including the review and update of the VicRoads’ Health and Safety Management System.

The Pfizer manufacturing and research and development facility in Mulgrave Victoria manufactures sterile injectable pharmaceutical products for cancer treatment and infection control. The facility was purchased from Hospira in late 2015. The facility employs approximately 500 personnel including 360 manufacturing and 100 research and development personnel.As EHS&S Manager I am member of the site leadership team and lead a team of EHS and security personnel.The scope of the role includes responsibility for environment, occupational hygiene, health surveillance, workers compensation and injury management and security as well as occupational health and safety. My key responsibilities are to:• Ensure the site is compliant with Pfizer EHS Standards, legislation and statutory requirements;• Establish and manage systems and processes necessary to achieve the site’s annual performance measures, monthly executive metrics and long term EHS goals. Ensure systems are aligned to business needs.• Drive continuous improvement in EHS systems and processes: human, equipment, chemical and facility safety and housekeeping at the site.• Prepare and lead the site through all EHS audits and inspections.• Coordinate frontline EHS related activities including active involvement with site consultation committees, training, liaising with regulators, incident investigations, hazard reporting and corrective actions.• Lead the Return to Work and injury management function.

Honeywell has the contract for Facility Management at the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre. This is part is part of a Public Private Partnership (PPP) with the Victorian Government. My role involved developing systems and processes to deliver the Facility Management services under the PPP contract. As an engineer and HSE professional I developed systems and processes in the areas of emergency management, health and safety, subcontractor management, QA and document management, HR and maintenance including requirements related to clinical and research accreditations. A key component of the role was documenting the processes in a clear, useable and integrated way to facilitate efficient and effective facility management for the 25 year duration of the contract.

In April 2012 Jemena's Infrastructure Services business was rebranded as the Zinfra Group. The role remained very similar to the Jemena role. Areas of work included development and implementation of the Zinfra Group Drug and Alcohol policy and the developing the requirements specification and preparing the business case for a new IT HSEQ incident management system.

Lead key business improvement projects that have an HSEQ element. Projects included Contractor HSE Management and implementation of the Harmonised Workplace Health and Safety Legislation. In addition I provided general support the General Manager HSEQ & Technical Training in the development and implementation of the HSEQ Strategy for Jemena Infrastructure Services.
