Penny Maus is the Chief Executive Officer of propertyworx LLC, which she founded with a mission of helping clients navigate the complexities of real estate transactions and entitlement processes to achieve their goals and optimize their real estate portfolios. Prior to founding propertyworx LLC, Penny served as the Director of Real Estate and Airport Management for the nation's 8th largest City - San Diego. Penny was brought in to reform a department that had been plagued with issues for decades. In less than three years, Penny was able to institute positive changes that benefited the City, and its residents, including: - Leading the solicitation and selection process for the redevelopment of a 48.5 acre parcel in the Midway District and continued to serve as lead negotiator and project manager for the Midway Rising project - Increasing department revenues over $12 million in FY2023- Creating 220 and preserving 514 affordable housing units- Updating three significant City Council policies governing real estate- Reducing the backlog of agreement holdovers by 3%- Developing and instituting operational processes and procedures, which previously did not exist- Implementing industry best practices in commercial real estate- Significantly increasing staffingPenny also worked in roles of increasing responsibility in the real estate department at the Port of San Diego. Penny's key projects that contributed to the transformation of San Diego's waterfront included:- $40 million Chula Vista RV Park development - $25 million development of Portside Pier dining complex - $15 million development of Coasterra restaurant - $200 million redevelopment of San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina - Land transfer for $520 million expansion of San Diego Convention Center - $5 million Bay Tour Operator relocation and development Penny is a member of the exclusive Lambda Alpha International Land Economics Society and serves on the San Diego Board of Directors as Secretary and Chair of the Networking Committee. Penny is also a member of Urban Land Institute, serving on the San Diego-Tijuana District Council’s Advisory Board and on the Executive Committee as the Programs Committee Co-Chair.
