Initially contracted to write the marketing plan for the first SBA-sponsored Women's Business Center in Central Texas. My contract was renewed several times to write curriculum, counsel small business clients, write scripts for fundraising programming and creatively build strategies and executable plans for new sources of private funding.- Developed, trained and delivered, "Marketing Gym;" a four hour curriculum focused on creating an executable marketing strategy for increased profitability.- Developed "MARKETSHARE;" a program to provide access-to-market for entrepreneurs and a profitable platform as funding source for BiGAUSTIN. - Taught Business Basics; legal forms of business, certifications, rudimentary financial business management - Speech writer for Executive Director; wrote scripts for major fundraisers

Penny's Pastries opened its doors in the winter of 1992 as a high volume wholesale bakery specializing in cookie production. Serving large clients (Southwest Airlines, Whole Foods, Starbucks) and smaller local and regional clients, Penny's was a fixture in Austin, TX for more than thirteen years. In 2005 the Penny's database and signature line of cookies were sold to a popular retail bakery in Austin. - I am experienced in all aspects of bakery business development including COGS analysis, product development, distribution, customer service, sales, purchasing, inventory control, accounting, promotion and employee relations.- Grew business from 2 employees in 500 sq. feet to 30 employees in over 10,000 sq. feet. Also worked with copackers.- Won numerous awards; enjoyed local, regional and national press including features on The Food NetworkPenny’s Pastries was a wonderful entrepreneurial experience. Not only did I grow and mature from it. More importantly, because of it, I understand both business downturn and unexpected opportunity and can successfully navigate through both.
