Penny Timms is a broadcast journalist with ABC's Specialist Reporting Team. The unit focuses on in-depth and investigative stories from across Australia. Previously, Penny has worked as a reporter for ABC's national current affairs unit, for the programs 'AM', The World Today, 'PM', and 'Saturday AM', where she also Executive Produced, as required. She is Australian born and based, but has previously worked as a freelance journalist and producer in the UK. While in London, Penny worked for BBC News and the financial network CNBC. Prior to moving to London, Penny worked for ABC TV and Radio News for more than six years. During that time, she worked at bureaus in Darwin, Townsville, Mount Isa and Longreach.Penny primarily works as a reporter, but has also taken on higher duties throughout her career, including as Executive Producer, Chief of Staff, and presenter.
