Devon Bank is a community bank based in one of the nation's most diverse neighborhoods. While I joined the organization to structure workouts, manage OREO, and determine impairment, my role now includes being its CRA Officer! Having fun tweaking the current products and introducing new ones to meet CRA goals as we grow from a small bank to an intermediate size bank.

2014-2015: Consult with local builder launching an energy efficient new home design and construction business, assessing financial feasibility and market potential.2011-2017: Conduct real estate market studies and community impact analysis for affordable housing projects, new apartment buildings, residential condominiums, mixed-use and retail development projects.2009-2014: Undertake loan workouts and REO management and disposition for IFF, a Community Development Finance Institution that lends to nonprofits. Develop modifications for nonprofits constrained by State of Illinois fiscal practices, litigate and negotiate to secure liquidation of assets for shuttered agencies, and creatively and efficiently sell assets to replenish funds.2009-2010: Consult with ShoreBank as a lender for multifamily and commercial loans during troubled times; create solutions that are good for the bank and good for the neighborhood. 2003-2009 Created real estate brokerage and consulting company to utilize expertise in real estate development, sales, leasing, turnarounds, and finance. Focus on near west suburbs. Key accomplishments include: *Conversion of 40 unit apartment building in Downtown Forest Park to condominiums; increasing unit prices by over $100,000 per unit by effective positioning, strategic upgrades and aggressive market analysis. * Brokered the sale of a mixed-use building featuring a first floor, non-profit tenant by focusing on developers already committed to the area, looking to expand holding and increase operational efficiency.

Identify and evaluate apartment, townhome, condo, mixed-use and land development opportunties, including affordable housing. Perform zoning analysis, market studies, and fiscal projections including TIF funds, SAA bonds, as well as conventional financing.

Direct economic development efforts for Village, growing department from two to six. Successfully recruited developers and retailers leading to eight new residential projects, eight new commercial projects and as well as two major public-private mixed use projects. Lead effort two retain two local auto dealerships.Launch changes to Village zoning ordinances and plans to facilitate redevelopment. Build support for economic development within senior management team, boards and commissions by providing solid analysis and solliciting testimony from opinion leaders and experts, as well as forging relationships with local lenders and business groups.

Positions include: Vice President of Real Estate Lending with responsiblity for $25 million portfolio and business development, Real Estate Credit Risk Officer insuring compliance with new credit policy for real estate, AVP of Special Asset Management minimze losses from 76 nonperforming commercial loans.

Vice President- Work Outs. Lead an eight person team to maximize proceeds from $80 million portfolio of problems loans and REO with Citibank Florida NA. AVP- Commercial Asset Management. Develop and implement marketing strategies and business plans to maximize recovery from troubled joint ventures and REO of Citibank FSB.
