About Dr. Chris Pepin-Neff πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

I am a Senior Lecturer in Public Policy and Associate Dean (Student Affairs) in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney. I have worked in academia for 10 years and government affairs, and non-profit management for over 10 years. I have a PhD in public policy and a Master's degree in public policy. My research and teaching focus on the role of emotions in agenda setting and inequality in the policy process, including LGBTQ+ politics, gender and human rights, and human-wildlife conflicts.I have authored three books, 15 peer-reviewed journal articles, and four book chapters in leading publications. I have also been a public-facing academic, and my research has been noted in The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Economist, The Guardian, and the Washington Post. Prior to academia, I led lobbying efforts for progressive issues, such as repealing β€˜Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’, passing marriage equality in Vermont, advancing women's reproductive rights, and promoting openly transgender military service.
