Manchester entrepreneurs – including the owner of the Cornerhouse cinema and art gallery – approached me to do whole refurbishments for them, after admiring my plastering work. I project managed the jobs, bringing in trusted sub-contractors, liaising with the client and supervising work to ensure it met best practice guidelines. My portfolio from this period includes:-- Automatic cafe/ bar, Derby Hall, Market St, Bury – refurbishment-- Bar next to Automatic – rebuilding the bar from scratch, incorporating elements of interior design-- The Met, an arts centre in Market St, Bury – bar concept design and refurb-- Mcqueen, ladies clothing boutique, Beech Rd, Chorlton – general refurbishment, creating flow and a natural feeling.

As I progressed, I supervised trainees and I also worked direct for business clients, project managing refurbishments of local restaurants and boutiques.
