As an ophthalmic tech/scribe I complete any testing, take a succinct and detailed history, complete the chief complaint, check vision and intraocular pressure, and report my findings to the doctor. I also maintain the equipment and keep exam rooms clean and stocked. My most important responsibilities are to provide excellent customer service, and to maintain “flow.” I keep the patients moving through our office in a timely and orderly fashion.
