In the role as Exchange Application Architect, involved in setting up the INET Nordics system. Based on the merger between Nasdaq and OMX, the work with the OMX next generation trading system was ceased, and the Nasdaq U.S. system for equities trading was now to also be used in the Nordics (including the Baltics). Production launch in Feb. 2010. Reorganization end of 2010: I was moved to the EMEA network team (where I once "belonged"). Position as in the head line.

OM TechnologyHead of Data Communication Services, in the beginning combined with role as Technical Operations Manager for the trading (SAXESS) system.Left the management track in 2000 to further follow the specialist track. Also left the network team the year thereafter, and worked in different teams with infrastructure & connectivity related matters. Heavily involved in the linking up of the other Nordic and Baltic exchanges (the NOREX community). Technical specialist in design studies/bid cases. E.g. NASD and Tadawul (the Saudi Arabian stock exchange). In the latter case also participating in the delivery project as infrastructure architect.Regardless of the formal position, my work related to the NOREX community systems contained roles as process manager, non-functional requirement analyst, application architect, infrastructure architect etc. Responsibility for providing access and transport protocol specifications, internal TCP/IP training sessions; system owner of performance monitor system and the provisioning of technical infomation to summits and agreements.

EDP department (later renamed to IT department) as head of the data communications team. After a couple of years, my position was head of a unit comprising both network and systems administration staff (the unit was later called IT Production).SAX went live 1st June 1989; after a year all stocks were traded in the new system. Hardware,split on two data centers: TANDEM computers, Eripax network nodes from Ericsson (for some time I was Eripax user group board member); the market information system ran on DG (DataGeneral).Members connected with workstations (where we shipped an own comm. card and the software), and also developed their own client programs based on our protocol specifications. The application resided over the comms. protocols X.25, SNA LU6/LU0 or OSI Transport_class2. Foreign broker firms eventually entered. I had met with all technical contacts at the Swedish member firms and I continued meeting all foreign contact persons for technical sessions.Mid 90s the TCP/IP stack arose as the gainer regarding the network and transport protocol layers. Fiber optics was deployed in the Stockholm city area, over which MFS (then acquired by WorldCom) provided a “city based” frame-relay (FR) net. We moved some network parts to IP; routers were configured and shipped to the member firms (LAN on one side and FR protocol on the WAN side). A FR node provided a broadcast function for the SAX market data flow.A project (SAX2000) started to develop the next generation trading system (on Unix platform). I was the network representative in a couple of bid cases addressing other exchanges. The Copenhagen Stock Exchange took great interest in our next generation system. Agreement was made.I was heavily involved in the work of gaining certification according to the quality standard ISO 9001, and managed the related education for all IT staff. In early 1998, OM acquired the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The IT staff was moved into the OM Technology division.

The unit later referred to as Ericsson Data Services. Initially to head up the data communications team within the ICL Operations section. Ericsson used equipment from many computer vendors (different data communications protocols), and the mainframe vendors had their own front end computers.. There was a need for implementing a “vendor independent” backbone. I was assigned to head up a team with an integration role, where the network was to be based on nodes from the Danish company Christian Rovsing A/S.I was very frequently in Copenhagen to discuss communication protocol matters, and analyze the outcome from the supplier´s software. It also involved some code checking (in Pascal). An extremely interesting period and a good way to get a deep knowledge in various protocols. Sad at that time, the project failed for a couple of reasons. The integration hereafter proceeded based on IBM´s SNA (Systems Network Architecture) in combination with Ericsson´s own network processors (Eripax packet switching nodes). Subsystems within SNA became a “de facto” standard for linking up different equipment alongside with X.25, the standard “de jure” protocol for packet switching.I was appointed head of the SNA network system section. As the staff´s work included X.25 interfacing configurations, we could also assist Ericsson´s Eripax organization when external customers were to install Eripax networks in (especially) large IBM environments. For some period of time the DECnet team was included in the section, and I chaired the Ericsson DEC user group (parent name: DECUS). I also provided courses in SNA and related protocol (on behalf of the training department). In 1987 the Stockholm Stock Exchange had decided to base its new trading system (name SAX at that time) on X.25 with Ericsson´s Erixax packet switches. I ran a project where a “shop” was set up for this purpose, and it became the “bridge” so to speak, for my move from Ericsson to the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

The Swedish subsidiary of the company ICL (International Computers Limited). Position: Systems consultant. The programming and system analysis work now changed from batch oriented to interactive systems. I.e. screen terminals in dialogue with mainframe applications running under the O/S´ terminal monitor/subsystem. Much work was performed at client sites. At that time ICL was a mainframe vendor (like IBM) and with own communications processors and terminal system. Units from the Singer Group (more known for its sewing machines) had been acquired, which in turn added more minicomputers to the product base. Mid 1978: assigned to ICL´s data communications laboratory in Scotland (U.K.) for entering into the area of enhanced data communications solutions. After a dozen weeks with hands-on training in ICL´s new data comms processors (referred to as front-end computers), I joined a team that was set up for the delivery of a reengineered O/S (in the front-ends) to Ericsson, the client company. And to form the delivered O/S package into a standard front-end solution for other companies with large ICL installations.Systems programming in the front-end´s main module was done in a general-purpose language, CORAL 66, and with embedded routines written in assembly code.

Started as trainee at DAFA (Datamaskincentralen För Administrativ Databehandling, a government agency established the year before, based on business oriented units from the Statistical Central Bureau). After the trainee period, assigned to the systems development department that handled government accounting and budgeting systems. Programming (COBOL and some IBM assembly code) and systems analysis work. The department´s main client was the National Audit Agency (sv: RRV).First half of 1975, on leave for military UN mission: United Nations´ peace keeping emergency force to the Middle East. Position: operations officer in the Swedish unit (deployment: at a buffer zone in Sinai).
