Moved down to Viaplay tech hub in sunny Barcelona in September 2023 and in November I took on an interim role as Product Manager for a new team - "Player Experience", with main objective to build up and drive a team of player developers to deliver on a corporate bet in HVOD on all platforms within 7 months. An engaging and successive delivery later I accepted the permanent role as Product Manager beyond that deliver, with now a fully staffed team of 10 great talents distributed over Stockholm and Barcelona. Our focus is to give Viaplay users the Player Experience they deserve and love.

After new learnings and skill sets acquired as a organizational wide project manager, I took the role as a Principle Streaming Engineer in Viaplay’s now much bigger streaming area consisting of 4 teams. So "back to home”, eager to contribute to the continuous improvement of our users' streaming experience from within the lion's den.As a Principal Streaming Engineer, I bring technical streaming expertise, leadership, mentorship, strategic and analytical thinking, problem-solving dexterity, effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, project management, people management, collaboration internally and cross teams / functions / departments, adaptability, and business acumen to the table.

Curious to see and learn other parts of the organisation and to add a new craft to my backpack, I joined the Project and Product Operations Team as a Project Manager.As a Project Manager in the PPO Team, I supported the organization with project management, architecture, and business development. My role involved driving projects and supporting initiatives using both agile and traditional approaches. Notable projects include:* SSAI - Server Side Ad Insertion --- Implementing new seamless ad video workflow enabling ad sale opportunities and revenue* Viaplay expansion and launch in USA--- Dipping our Nordic Noir toes on the other side of the pond* TV Everywhere x3--- 3 different markets with 3 different strategies and business purposes* HTML5 player for Big Screens--- Optimizing Big Screen players for a heavily improved streaming experience* Enriched metadata project--- From acquisition deal with 3rd party to new workflow implementation and promoting product teams for utilization

While keeping responsibility for Viaplay live streaming setup and workflows, focus shifted more towards development and enhancement of streaming solutions as Viaplay continues to grow. Multi CDN solution, video origin orchestrating, Ultra HD (4K) live workflow and setup, device specific player optimizations and format changes, high quality low latency initiatives, SSAI, analytic tool integrations, monitoring system implementations, encoder server farm rebuild, flexible redundancy solutions, CDN analysis and evaluation of inhouse managed CDN are examples of projects and initiatives.

Responsible for the sports live streaming setup and playout for Viasat/Viaplay OTT in the Nordics. This involves the full chain from satellite to Internet end user devices including systems and contractors there in between such as transcoding and CDN partners. Also involved in most VOD transcoding projects, catchup-TV recordings and CMS related projects and workflows.

Bonver Entertainment Group was back then a large logistic distributor of physical entertainment media products. As an early and disruptive move to movies online – VOD rental service 'film2home' was born. At film2home I played a key role in a small team handling everything from acquiring online rights to overseeing the production, adjustment and delivery of files, movie material, and metadata. I was the main technical contact with digital departments of Hollywood studios and other European distributors, establishing strong working relationships and collaborating on various projects.To stay at the forefront of technology, I made it a priority to keep up with the latest advancements in audio/video editing and transcoding, content delivery, network and web solutions to continually improve our processes.Being involved in collaborations between film2home and various actors in the media business, I gained valuable insights into the industry and developed a comprehensive understanding of the evolving landscape of digital distribution.

I got the opportunity to write expert analyses for the most recognized trotting analysts in Sweden at the time. Additionally, I was commissioned to act as an expert on TV a few times. It was a thrilling experience to share insights and recommendations to anyone interested in betting on horse races.
