My Startup 2.0. The enjoyment of growing market share and transforming an industry again. Building on the initial foundation laid prior to our acquisition of the US based marketplace CharterX. Having been responsible for the acquisition, it was natural for me to also be in charge for sales and market activities to get our customer bases combined and then to a single platform.Last years have been focused on growing member base, traffic volume, strategic initiatives for the Americas market and growing / developing the US Organization. Very focused on making Avinode the best sourcing and booking tool for professional operators and brokers.Privileged to work with the best possible team in delivering today while building tomorrow.

Avinode came out of the Master Thesis project that I wrote together with Niklas Berg and Niclas Wennerholm at Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship. Founding an internet company focused on aviation in August of 2001 was very challenging. The Dot.com bubble had bust 6-9 months earlier and 9/11 happened just a few weeks later, so zero opportunities to pitch to VC for funding. We managed to attract "seed funding" of just $150,000, but it was enough. We were off in on a very exciting journey to transform an industry.Part of a growing company allows/requires you to hold many positions. Sales, CFO, CEO, CTO, Product Owner/Manager, IT support among somethings. Actually run anything a small company has to offer except Marketing and writing code.

Through out Avinode´s history, we three founders have rotated roles and responsibilities. This also was true about the CEO role. Three different personalities that complements each others´s strength and weaknesses makes for a very powerful constellation. Constantly learning from each other.My CEO rotation ended prematurely, with Avinode Inc urgently needing a Founder to step in and be part of the continued growth of the US business. Avinode Inc was still in a startup mode. Who can resist that opportunity?
