I work with Boulder County as a Sustainable Business Fellow in the Partners for a Clean Environment (PACE) program. I am fortunate to be a part of many different programs, including zero-waste, energy efficiency and electrification, reducing water consumption, and electrifying landscape equipment. The main duties of my role include: - Conducting targeted outreach to Boulder businesses, engaging owners to understand waste production, energy, and water use- Advise businesses with tailored recommendations and information on PACE rebates and incentives to minimize operational costs and reduce environmental impacts of business- Generate reports for internal stakeholders at the City of Boulder (using Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and external reports for businesses using Canva and Figma- Manage two major outreach programs to HVAC contractors in Boulder County and Boulder's assisted living facilities, with a focus on sustainable solutions- Track and adapt engagement strategies to improve outreach and program success

As a sustainability consultant for the Boulder Jewish Community Center (JCC), my team and I are leading the development of a clear and actionable Climate, Resilience, and Sustainability Plan (CRSP). I am focused on identifying environmentally sustainable solutions that offer a return on investment or create new revenue streams for the JCC.To create the CRSP, my efforts include:- Using focus groups, one-on-one interviews, and surveys to identify stakeholder priorities that we use to guide our research and data acquisition. These priorities will also tailor my team’s final recommendations.- Parse out top financial and environmental sustainability goals from engagement, then pinpoint and collaborate with staff to gather relevant data.- Compile, input, and analyze historical utility bill data in Excel, including waste management, water use, natural gas, and electricity consumption. - Gather information and data on facility equipment to conduct a thorough scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas inventory. Initiate a scope 3 inventory, measuring emissions from categories that are identified as the easiest lift for JCC staff.- Perform eight waste audits at representative farm, internal, and external, events, plus a three-day whole-building audit. I will extrapolate this information to provide an estimate on top annual waste categories to inform our final recommendations.

I learned invaluable skills during my time at REI and I know that corporate sustainability is the career trajectory I need to take.
