I have been living in the Grand Rapids area for the past 20 years. I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems with a special emphasis on Business Analytics from Western Michigan University. Currently, I work as an Applications Engineer at Steelcase Inc., the global leader in the office furniture industry. In this role, I have successfully led and implemented various projects, including the recent FedEx project at our Americas Distribution Center. Since late 2023, I have been assigned the role of Subteam Lead for a global project to upgrade our ERP system. When I am not working on projects, I provide support for various programs, applications, and reports, with a focus on manufacturing and distribution.In addition to my professional work, I am actively involved in making positive changes in my community. I have served on various boards, utilizing my technical and project management skills to contribute to building better infrastructure. Currently, I hold the position of Executive Director at Code on Wheels, a tech education nonprofit based in Grand Rapids. Our organization is committed to addressing the diversity gap in the tech field by providing tech education programs to underrepresented students. Over the years, we have established strong partnerships with respected organizations in West Michigan and have made an impact on over 200 students through our classes and workshops. Our long-term vision is for our students to utilize their coding and technical skills to make positive contributions to their communities.With a diverse professional background in non-profit, management, and leadership, I value connecting with individuals from different backgrounds to learn and exchange knowledge.
