Responsible for the management of the 7,000 user, 300 router, 500 server NT, Novell, Unix, and Citrix Winframe local and wide area network utilizing TCP/IP, IPX, and DEC LAT – company size over 1 bln dollars. Management of the LAN/WAN services staff and budget. Over six million dollar annual capital budget for network infrastructure. Staff of forty-five nationwide, to include 5 regional WAN managers, LAN administrators, and administrative staff. Extensive acquisition and integration experience as well as project management. • Designed or redesigned and implemented all networks from company acquisitions. Integrated over 300 buildings and LAN/WANs onto corporate network.• Grew corporate network from 100 users to 7000 in two and one-half years.• Designed and managed five corporate data centers.• Authored, developed, and tested national Disaster Recovery plan.• Authored and implemented national tape backup system policies on all computer platforms including Windows NT, Novell, and HP UX.• Managed all computer and telephone related processes through outsourcing with multiple vendors.• Designed, implemented, managed, and supported of 330 router frame-relay network. • Proactive network monitoring via IBM Tivoli, Computer Associates Unicenter, Cisco NetSys, Cisco Works, Cisco View, Cisco Secure, and Microsoft SMS.• Developed policies and instituted virus protection on every desktop and server in the company.• Developed policies and implemented asset management, software distribution techniques, and presentation-quality topology maps.• Responsible for all aspects of network and computer security to include: “acceptable use”, monitoring and auditing of network and server activity, firewall and access control, software license compliance and remote support policies.• Used modeling tools (Cisco NetSys) to apply simulation of application traffic and project what-if scenarios, resulting in efficient network design.
