In this role, I was responsible for managing a workload based on competing statutory timeframes. The workload included assessing applications against the Ballarat Planning Scheme and Incorporated Documents, with reference to other relevant Legislation and Acts. The applications I assessed included a broad scope of proposals with planning permit triggers relating to small-scale multi-dwelling residential development, subdivision of land, heritage, industrial development, land use, signage, removal of native vegetation, bushfire management, and various environmental triggers. In addition, I was responsible for assessing plans submitted for endorsement in accordance with a condition of a permit, amendment applications, and providing verbal and written advice to customers regarding their proposals.This role required a high level of written and verbal communication, to manage the conflicting objectives of the stakeholder parties to ensure a decision could be made in a timely manner. I was part of the team responsible for the creation and implementation of our digital endorsement stamps and training the team on how to use the new process.

I help students with questions, complaints, and issues, support the permanent staff in their duties and act as a first responder for any first aid or mental health first aid issue.

I acted as a support system for the residents, many of whom were away from home for the first time. I was a person they could come to with questions or as a voice in resolving conflict. I organised and completed risk assessments for events and functions. My responsibilities also extended to being a first responder for any health or mental health first aid issues.
