As a solo artist, I play acoustic music, ranging from 1960s hits and pub classics to contemporary alternative tunes, at hotels, farmers' markets, weddings and house parties on my trusty baritone ukulele.

I broke news before metropolitan rivals and explored it in greater depth. I drew attention to local issues, helped inform and resolve community disputes, and organised and hosted public events. I sourced, researched and wrote about 15 stories per week, and editorial columns; took photos; shot video; made layout decisions; managed a website and social media channels; and filled a weekly guest spot on local radio. I covered tragedies, triumphs, poignant moments and controversies. I researched and wrote news and advertorials, took photos, maintained a website, laid out pages, produced the monthly council Pirieodical, edited the Crystal Brook Chronicle and acted as The Recorder's editor and journalist-in-charge at The Flinders News. I also contributed to Through Our Eyes, a centennial publication by Country Press SA.

At community station Three D Radio, I read news, conducted interviews, recorded live music, produced outside broadcasts and trained and supervised young presenters on behalf of local councils in Adelaide's eastern suburbs, under the auspices of the City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters. I spent more than two years volunteering with the program before being employed to run it in March 2010.
