Sysdig impressed me with its open-source technology and strong engineering team. I joined the company as employee #8 to work on the monitoring product backend, and I wrote the first versions of the alerting system and AWS cloud integration. The customer base grew quickly, followed by the challenge of dealing with vast amounts of time-series data, which became my focus. The distributed team I have led has built a Prometheus-compatible time-series database called Meerkat, which easily handles hundreds of millions of concurrently active time series in some of our largest deployments. We had to do all this while supporting existing 10+ SaaS regions and a dozen on-premises installations. This project took over two years and was essential for the company's success.As part of the engineering leadership team, I have worked on continuous improvement of our engineering department. Growing the engineering team from 5 to 300+ people required many changes in our approach: hiring, onboarding, continuous integration and delivery, quality assurance, monitoring, logging, on-call duty, planning, tracking, and other aspects of software engineering.In addition to my usual responsibilities, I have established Sysdig's Serbian office and helped Sysdig hire top talent in Serbia.

I have joined Seven Bridges as an engineer No 4. My first responsibility was to work on acomponent in charge of scheduling and orchestration of cloud instances, which are usedfor the processing of genomic data.After a couple of months, I assumed the role of the Director of Engineering. Whileconstantly growing the engineering team (from 5 to 70 people) and evolving theorganization, we have developed a platform that provides an integrated environmentto manage, execute, and collaborate on all aspects of the next-generation sequencinganalysis workflow.

"Mozzart" was an early-stage venture with four software developers when I joined. When I left, the company was present in 4 countries, operated almost 500 betting shops, employed 2000 people, and had a great software development department. I've worked in various positions: software developer, team leader, software architect, software development manager, and (scrum) product owner. That was an excellent opportunity for me to work on numerous exciting and challenging engineering problems and grow together with the company. I led the system architecture team and enjoyed the company of highly talented younger colleagues.During those seven years of my engagement, we have gradually transformed the heavyweight EJB 1.1 solution into a more elegant Java custom-tailored software system.In the last three years of my engagement, I have permanently worked on the organization and process improvement.
