David Perkins is a Director, Ren Foundation at Ren Foundation. He possess expertise in leadership, public speaking, teamwork, management, microsoft excel and 20 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "Student-athletes at Duke University tend to be very impressive people. Not only do they distinguish themselves in their athletic endeavors, but they also embrace the high expectations and rigorous academic curriculum that comes with being a student at one of the top institutions of higher learning in all the world. But a select few go a step further, exhausting themselves to ensure that they squeeze every bit of value out of their four-year experience. David Perkins is one of those students. I work with David as his Athletics Academic Coordinator here at Duke. My job is to help student-athletes achieve both academically and athletically as they balance sometimes two conflicting roles. Few handle what amounts to be two full-time jobs better than David. Beginning his freshman year, he showed himself to be a earnest hard-worker, a man with a plan and a tireless drive to execute that plan. He is unafraid to utilize resources, ask questions, and adapt given the circumstances he is facing. The latter cannot be overstated: In my experience working with college-aged students, the ability to self-regulate behavior, to modify the way they learn or take on various tasks to ensure success, is both underdeveloped and underutilized in young people today. David, however, is willing to try all the angles to get a job done, be it for himself (in the classroom) or for his team (on the baseball field). David Perkins would be a remarkable addition to any organization in whatever career he chooses to pursue."
