I completed studies in Electronic engineering in Sweden in 1980.Operated sailing/diving charter business and marine repair business in Vanuatu 1986-1990. Decided on a marine engineering career and sailed as C/E on a research vessel in New Guinea 1989-1990.Worked on Private yachts 1991-1995 both as skipper and as engineer. This included a season as game fishing boat skipper and a world record blue marlin caught in the Azores 1993.C/E with Tecto (Belgium) where I sailed on product tankers in the Azores 1997 and 2nd Engineer on a VLCC 1998.Self-employed in the Azores 2000-2001 mainly involved with Class (ABS) certification and commissioning of a small research submarine certified to 500m dive depth.I joined Crescent Tankers 2002 and sailed as C/E on small product tankers until 2004.C/E in owner’s supervision team during the new-building of nine 3500t chemical tankers in yards in Bulgaria and Turkey. Main focus on installation, commissioning and design changes of ships systems. Project spanned 2004-2007.Two periods (2006 and 2008) as technical super with Clipper Marine Services (UK) where I was responsible for the technical management of four 3500t chemical tankers.Joined Seatruck 2009, initially standing by a RoRo new-building in Seville but later had a roving role both as sailing C/E on RoRo’s as well as extra superintendent for emergency dry-dockings, repairs, ship management issues etc. I also handled the implementation of the planned maintenance system.I was permanent Chief Engineer as owner’s representative during a new-building project of four RoRo ferries at Flensburg shipyard in Germany 2011-2012. I took over as new-build project manager for the last two months.I sailed as C/E with Seatruck until May 2017 when I left Seatruck employment to go sailing with my family.Short contracts as C/E on private yacht “Cocoa Bean” and EERV “Ocean Osprey” spring/summer 2018. Back to full employment as C/E with Seatruck October 2018.I have now moved on from shipping to the hospitality industry where I joined the crew on a private island resort in the Caribbean as Chief Engineer October 2021.
