Program Associate, Innoved
Supported the design, launch, growth, and continuous improvement of the University of Toronto's hub for education entrepreneurship in the Office of Continuing and Professional Learning (CPL) in the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE). I curated resources, coordinated advising, and facilitated opportunities for connection with and between over 20 members and member entities. As part of my role, I also investigated inclusion and representation in entrepreneurship education, namely within campus incubator environments and among individual learner journeys, to advance possibilities for storytelling and knowledge mobilization.InnovED is an education innovation learning community comprised of entre- and intra- preneurs committed to serving educators and their education communities by diligently applying knowledge and appreciation of the education sciences. Its mission is simple — to harness the collective desire of innovators to connect, collaborate, create and contribute thoughtfully to our education ecosystem locally, nationally and internationally.
Researcher
Intensively examined the delivery of social services to communities that are hardest to reach through a cross-disciplinary research initiative at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. Our team investigated the role and good practices of cross-sector partnerships in global health interventions, namely the impact of one campaign's stock management application and multi-party partnership network on the reach of life-saving vaccines. We conducted semi-structured interviews with experts from across various sectors (oriented toward Mozambique, in particular) who are actively collaborating in public-private partnerships for global health and development. Our objective was to elicit key insights for current and future partnerships, as their role is considered critical to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Findings can promote practice around and further study into greater inclusion and equity in partnerships for global health and development in low-resource settings, with focus on vaccine delivery efforts during a time when routine childhood immunization rates are in decline.
Research Assistant
I created survey and interview instruments for the impact evaluation project titled “Measuring the learning outcomes and impact of two Laurier Experiential Learning Programs: The Social Entrepreneurship Option and the Community Engagement Option”, led by Dr. Edmund Pries.
Program Coordinator, Summer Mentorship Program, C3 Innovation Labs
I consulted with students, faculty, and staff in order to coordinate professional development workshops, enhancing the outcomes of individual student internships and venture development. Seven students engaged in the summer program and I personally supported two interns conducting research for the City of Waterloo. As part of the position, I also continued the development of my social enterprise, System Innovation and Resilience through Conflict in Transformation (SIRCiT).
Program Development Associate, C3 Innovation Labs
My role involved various administrative tasks necessary to promoting internal Program Development Team organization and efficiency. During this time I eagerly collaborated with fellow associates to launch the C3IL Students’ Association, supporting program development through community outreach and promotional material, needs discovery, and organizing student-led initiatives/special events. Overall, I prioritized time spent connecting with students, faculty, and staff to serve as an active intermediary between parties.
Co-Editor-In-Chief, Volume 6
In collaboration with my fellow Co-Editor-in-Chief, I managed the publication process and led a team of over 10 Reviewers and Editors to work cooperatively in generating an academic journal of Canadian undergraduate work. LUJA Volume 6, Issue 1 presents two articles in a mini-issue that centres the theme of "peace". Volume 6, Issue 2 features 6 more selected Humanities and Social Sciences papers of exceptional academic rigour.
Workshop Facilitator
As a workshop facilitator, I conducted weekly workshops that combined Social Studies curriculum with conflict resolution skills to foster peace-literacy and social justice education in Grade 1, Grade 3, Grade 5 and Grade 6 classrooms. Working both with a team of facilitators and independently, I addressed student needs by simplifying complex concepts using evidence-informed pedagogical approaches and practices, applying communication and organizational skills to effectively manage the classroom.
Research Associate
In collaboration with a Co-Researcher, I engaged in rigorous best practice research to produce a portfolio of participatory budgeting data and analysis, providing grounding for the City of Waterloo to advance a local culture of civic engagement. Some of my independent areas of focus included compiling and organizing secondary data for analysis, conducting semi-structured stakeholder interviews and organizing data, and navigating written communication in the form of a report. Together, we corresponded with key City constituents across municipalities to accurately inform research, including those in the City of Waterloo, and formally conveyed findings back to City staff members both through presentation and written reports. These outputs helped mobilize the Council-approved Public Engagement Capacity Initiative.
Cashier
I interacted closely with customers to discern their specific needs and offer product information. My efforts involved building positive and professional relationships with employers and fellow employees to create a welcoming environment for customers.
Vice President Of Academics, Laurier Arts Scholars
I enjoyed connecting with fellow members and educators to design and facilitate academically supportive workshops for incoming first year students. Working both individually and in a team environment, I helped deliver team-building activities and promotional events to foster a welcoming environment driven by peer support for new students.
