My name is Perry Casper, and I am a fourth-year Senior currently studying at Florida Gulf Coast University. I was diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum at the age of 8. I have worked in many positions from retail to funeral work and I do not take long to grasp the basics of each opportunity. I first worked at a retail position at a local grocery store, the Big Y, in Norwell, Massachusetts. I worked at the position for three years until I resigned in preparation to move out of state. During my employment at the Big Y, I first started as a service clerk and was trained on bagging, recovering shopping carts, and was later trained to use a POS system. After I resigned from the Big Y, I moved to Florida where I initially got a job working at Walmart. I was not treated well by the managers and decided to leave Walmart. I then got a job working at Office Depot as a cashier where I still work today. On the side, I would occasionally work at my father's side at his Funeral Home business in South Boston. There I would perform tasks from cleaning bathrooms to preparing bodies for cremation. I would occasionally be sent out of Boston to perform a removal service or delivering cremated remains.As an individual on the Autism Spectrum, my interest in history first started when I became fascinated with the mechanics of steam engines and steam locomotives, enticing me to learn more about the uses of steam for mechanization. I soon divided my interests to studies on war and conflict, the study of naval warships, the study of railroads, the study of naval doctrine and so on. My expertise however is limited to the early industrial era to the Second World War, however I seek to broaden my horizons.

  I first started in July as a cashier, however cashiering does not represent the totality of my employment. I would often help over in the Print and Copy department where I gained experience using large printers, laminators, and cutting machines. I would often go to the back in order to help with placement of merchandise or to collect an item for a customer. From my experience I was able to gain memory of nearly every item's proper place on the shelf.
