I am a process improver and a business geek at heart and have a love for all things VC. Yes, I am one of those people who can't get enough of business-related case studies, podcasts, and books. I have always been an admirer of new start-ups, their business models, and what drives their success. This curiosity first bloomed as a teenager growing up in Germany. I started getting into skateboarding and couldn't help but notice the money new skateboarding brands were charging for their clothing. I couldn't afford the real brands. I worked at a skate- and streetware store where a pair of pants cost upward of $120 and realized the value of a well-branded, solid business model, that people were willing to get behind. From there I have taken my journey through many different experiences including an accounting degree, an internship with an audit firm, and now a job at a VC fund accounting firm. I couldn't be more excited to widen my knowledge of the "up and coming" and how funding, finances, branding, and a rigid business model play a role in successful start-ups.
