An alum of Atlanta's prestigious Lovett School, Perry earned an ABJ from the University of Georgia. After undergrad, he was in the MBA program. At UGA he wrote three years for the Red & Black, the school's daily newspaper, also serving as sports editor. Hired by then-SID, Dan Magill, to assist in the UGA SID, he shared an office with Greg McGarity, later Athletic Director at UGA. McIntyre was selected by Magill as the first editor of The Georgia Bulldog Magazine in 1980. The 2024 football season is the 45th consecutive campaign, during which, McIntyre provided game-action photos to UGA Athletics.Moving home to Atlanta, McIntyre was in the commercial real estate business with his father until Perry, Senior's death. Perry, Jr., was the third generation of his family to hold membership in the Atlanta Board of Realtors. His grandmother, Caroline Trammel McIntyre, was the first woman admitted to the Board. Also served as Director of Real Estate for a private investment firm, closing over $20 million in sales and purchases.McIntyre was also one of the Atlanta Falcons' two official game-action photographers, holding that post for 16 seasons, and the Falcons' run to Super Bowl XXXIII. Soccer drew McIntyre back to serve at Lovett, by then-Athletic Director Bill Holleman, shooting the Lions 1984 State Championship. He has subsequently staffed six FIFA World Cups, including 2006 in Germany, 2010 in South Africa, and 2014 in Brazil, as a publications photographer, and as one of two official match photographers for U.S. Soccer in Brazil. McIntyre holds five national soccer coaching licenses and coached Lions' soccer for 17 seasons, including two state titles and 14 semifinal or finals berths.McIntyre used his UGA ties to forward the candidacy of long-time friend, Bill Barker, as the most qualified person to begin the women's soccer program at UGA. Barker led the Bulldogs to the NCAA 'Sweet 16' in their fourth season of existence. McIntyre steered Barker to the program's first signee, Mandy Aiken of Lovett, who developed into Georgia's leading scorer for more than the first decade of the program's existence.McIntyre ended 35 years of professional services support to The Lovett School, July, 2019.SpecialtiesInternationally-known Sports PhotojournalistDigital Image Processing & ArchivingPublications Writing, Editing & ProductionMedia RelationsReal Estate Acquisition & ManagementWebsite Development & Maintenance21st Century Educational InitiativesSoccer Coaching & OrganizationEducational & Environmental StewardshipFree Thought > Conformity
