In this program management role led the planning, integration, execution & control of all Transition/Transformation (T&T) program activities for new and re-negotiated IT outsourcing contracts. Provided overall leadership and direction to the IBM program & project teams while serving as the single point of accountability to the Client regarding roles & responsibilities, scope, schedule, deliverables, financials, issues, risks and status. Led integration & implementation of all contracted technical services including workstations, servers, storage, data center, service desk and network. Typical scope for these programs included 50-150 FTEs and $15-30M budget over 6-18 calendar months.

Executive selected to lead the formation of a Transition Management competency that included over 800 global IT professionals from the Strategic Outsourcing, Application Services, and Business Transformation Outsourcing business lines. In this role was for ensuring that IBM’s services Transition approach was industry leading, enabling cost efficient, high quality Transition performance through the rigorous identification, development & implementation of “best practice” policies, processes and standards. Provided global leadership to a portfolio of projects that delivered a standardized set of processes, project/WBS templates, education collateral, key performance indicators and supporting Intellectual Capital used to manage the Transition / Transformation of IT outsourcing contracts. Established and managed the PMO and a Knowledge Network of reusable Intellectual Capital and its continual improvement.

Managed & led a group of 60 project management professionals in providing expert contract start up & transition integration management services for both sales & delivery of Strategic Outsourcing contracts in the U.S marketplace. During this time, the organization matured and grew its services while providing global leadership to non-US geographies, including select contract support and mentoring in developing a consistent, standards based approach to contract start up and transition management. Annually supported new and expanded outsourcing contracts with aggregate total contract value > $10B. Also led in the establishment of the Global Transition Management Council and the Transition Management Knowledge Network to serve the Transition & Transformation Management professional community globally.

Developed pilot Program Management System for managing & controlling large IT Outsourcing contracts; Was subsequently adapted for use on all IBM IT Outsourcing contracts globally. Provided leadership to multiple new & troubled outsourcing contracts in implementing a comprehensive Program Management governance framework to control all aspects of the outsourcing agreement. In this role was responsible for planning, executing and controlling the contract startup and implementation of the contract management system. Responsibilities also included educating and mentoring the contract teams to ensure their understanding of the program management system, driving the implementation of the processes as well as a discipline of continuous improvement in order to ensure the long term success of the contract.

As a charter Principal within the Worldwide Information Services organization and a member of the Systems Integration world-wide practice, was responsible for both business development and the career management of a group of seventy-five IT professionals. Led the selling of SI services engagements, negotiation of contracts, overseeing the staffing, development and solution integration, management of P&L, negotiation of change orders, and overall implementation of the solution. During this period personally led a large cross discipline team in the design and implementation of an image-enabled remittance processing system for a large telecommunications firm. Led organization in doubling services revenue generation over four year period

Led and managed a group of sixty network engineers and developers responsible for delivering network design, integration, and consulting services across all markets within the U.S. Personal responsibilities included technical and financial oversight of all engagements, career management, and new business development. While in this position, the team successfully led the design of a state-of-the-art T1 backbone network and enterprise network management solution which was a key in the award of a $65M statewide adult & child welfare (IV-A) system.
