About Perry Thompson

It’s about handling the opportunities right.” - Mark HunterWhen you're a person of many talents or a "jack of all trades" as some people say, limiting yourself to one thing can make you feel incomplete. I chose to become a Mass Communications major because it encompasses many of my interest and skills. While on the journey towards my degree, I stumbled into the world of the beauty industry and have never looked back. I realized that while exploring deeper into the world of beauty and gaining knowledge/skills in both my education pursuit and the industry that I MUST find a way to make the two coexist.Whilst working as a Salon Makeup Manager and Makeup artist for MAC, I've honed and developed skills such as education and beauty training, beauty and event marketing, record and book keeping, and social media marketing of products and services. Paired with my educational knowledge, I've learned how to do identify market trends and conduct market research on competitors, developed advance skills in video editing with various editing software, learned how to content write for different styles of writing such as newspaper, journalism, and digital/social media platforms. Being a salon makeup manager has enhanced my organizational and time management skills, helped me expand my marketing and promotions knowledge, improved my customer satisfaction rate, and improved my clerical skills. Being a freelance artist for MAC has given me the opportunity and freedom to explore and research different market trends among different areas and be able to leverage that to increase my product knowledge, awareness of consumer buying trends, and relevant digital marketing tactics. I'd love to either expand on my current experience in the beauty or even branch out into a different industry such as tech and be able to transfer my knowledge and skills in that field and grow from there. I look forward to discussing driving the transformation of brand positioning; bringing brands to life in a clear way that resonates with and appeals to target audiences.
