• Chemical informatics internship to develop a remotely controlled undergraduate laboratory experiment to help reduce the amount of lab space needed for practical sessions• Developed a first year undergraduate experiment involving calculating the molar extinction coefficient of a fluorescent rhodamine solution. • Designed a Matlab computer program which could remotely operate the equipment and measure the absorbance using a digital camera.• Wrote a Linux program to allow the remote execution of both the image capture and the subsequent data analysis• Gave regular written and verbal reports, whilst adhering to a strict timescale throughout.

• Developed online ‘pre-lab’ learning resources whereby students could observe experimental techniques before carrying out the experiments, including theory, safety and experimental technique.• Worked alone and as a group with audio and visual recording equipment, and video editing software to meet a pre-assigned deadline.
