    An IC implementing a signal classifier had to be power efficient. One of the parts that needed to be optimized was the ADC. In order to reduce the required amount of power, the ADC consisted of an analog 8-bin FFT. In the eight branches a lower speed ADC sampled the signal. My research resulted in an algorithm to determine whether and to what extend the resolution of each of these lower speed ADC's could be reduced.
