Work to develop design guidelines to integrate GMR magnetic field detectors inside power electronics switching modules. Extensive use of electromagnetic finite element analysis and construction of geometric configurations.

Teaching assistant for graduate level advanced controls lab. Taught students to build controller for DC servo motor. Half of the class focused on analog control using breadboards and opamps, half focused on digital control using a DSP.

Conducted both thermal and electromagnetic finite element analysis on IGBT device structures. Constructed prototype IGBT devices and evaluated structures with point field magnetic sensors.

Worked in the sustainable mobile technology group assisting with the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. Tasks included instrumenting and operating unpackaged fuel cell lab engine and characterizing hydrogen pumps.
